Technology Transfers.

Quantitative + Qualitative [QQ] Composition Detail.

You’ll own the intellectual property of your product(s), and an identical formulation is compiled. You’ll want no changes to the formulation or primary packaging. Information to transfer would include percentage INCI breakdown with raw materials and suppliers, full CPSR, method of manufacture and specifications. Specifications include colour, odour, appearance, pH range, viscosity range with spindle, and speed detail. Where appropriate, Orean equivalents of materials will be used. Any other materials Orean does not currently stock will be sourced but may incur an excess fee. No testing would be required as the INCI would remain the same. (Orean may take testing from line bulk for internal records.) First, samples would be sent as Bronze Seals with EXT codes.

Banded Quantitative + Qualitative.

INCI breakdown with raw materials and suppliers is provided; however, a range is given for each material included. This means the composition is open to interpretation, as it cannot be confirmed that the levels match the original formulation. Where appropriate, Orean equivalents of materials will be used. Any other materials Orean does not currently stock will be sourced but may incur an excess fee. These instances will require retesting (challenge, stability, compatibility). First, samples would be sent as standard submissions with ORE codes for the customer to confirm the comparable match. Subsequent submissions would follow the NPD process.

Percentage INCI Breakdown.

The INCI breakdown with individual chemical percentage detail is included rather than per raw material. The raw materials would have to be deducted from this, which may lead to variation due to the different interpretations and specifications of raw materials. Materials Orean does not currently stock will be sourced but may incur an excess fee. These instances will require retesting (challenge, stability, compatibility). First, samples would be sent as standard submissions with ORE codes for the customer to confirm the comparable match. Subsequent submissions would follow the NPD process.

Banded INCI Breakdown.

This is where the INCI breakdown with individual chemical percentage range per chemical is included rather than per raw material. The raw materials would have to be deducted from this, which may lead to variation due to the different interpretations and specifications of raw materials. In this instance, the scope for variation is even broader, as the material inclusion is not specific. Materials Orean does not currently stock will be sourced but may incur an excess fee. These instances will require retesting (challenge, stability, compatibility) alongside a new INCI and CPSR. First, samples would be sent as standard submissions with an ORE code for the customer to confirm the comparable match. Subsequent submissions would follow the NPD process.

INCI Only.

When a customer can only provide an INCI (no breakdown), a match is unlikely possible due to the interpretation leaving a broad scope for product variation. It is best to propose a texture match, a complete reformulation. Existing fragrances can be matched through analysis and development with a fragrance house, which Orean can advise. These instances will require retesting (challenge, stability, compatibility) alongside a new INCI and, therefore, a new CPSR. First, samples would be sent as standard submissions with ORE code and subsequent submissions following the NPD process.
